PM SHRI Schools: A Centrally Sponsored Scheme
The Government of India has launched the PM SHRI Schools initiative to develop over 14,500
schools across the country, providing a welcoming and nurturing environment for all students.
The scheme aims to create a safe and stimulating learning atmosphere, offering a diverse range
of learning experiences and access to good physical infrastructure and resources.
More than 20 lakh students are expected to benefit directly from this scheme, which will be
implemented over five years, from 2022-23 to 2026-27. As part of this initiative, 730 Kendriya
Vidyalayas (KVs) have been selected as PM SHRI Schools, paving the way for a transformative
education experience.
The PM SHRI Schools scheme is designed to:

Foster a safe and stimulating learning atmosphere
Offer a wide range of learning experiences
Ensure access to good physical infrastructure and resources conducive to learning
By implementing this scheme, the Government of India aims to create a supportive and inclusive
